Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' five-year union is officially over, according to E!.
Papers were filed in a New York court Monday, closing the the divorce case. This marks an unusually quick end to one of Hollywood's most known couples.
The divorce news comes only a month and a half after Holmes filed for divorce from Cruise, seeking sole custody of their six-year-old daughter, Suri. The duo entered negotiations almost immediately and worked out a settlement in a matter of days.
Sources say Cruise is in a good place and has come to terms with the dirvoce.
"Tom is very happy and relieved that he is moving forward," says the source. "His priority is being a good father and this settlement will make sure that continues."
Cruise and Holmes began dating in April 2005 and married in November 2006.

Cruise, 50, and Holmes, 33, are reportedly on amicable terms and are co-parenting and communicating for the sake of their daughter. Suri lives with Holmes in New York and gets liberal visitation and travel with Cruise.
